What is required to complete your Certificate IV in Training and Assessment – BSZ40198 Upgrade?

You must either complete the following three units:

  • TAEASS401A Plan assessment activities and processes - Develop assessment instruments – Skills Gap Task
  • TAEASS403A Participate in assessment validation
  • TAEDES402A Use training packages and accredited courses to meet client needs.
  • OR
  • Submit a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) application

Plus you must complete one of any of the following electives:

TAEDEL404A Mentor in the workplace
TAELLN401A Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills
BSBMKG413A Promote products and services
BSBRES401A Analyse and present research information
BSBCMM401A Make a presentation

IMPORTANT: When updating from BSZ to the TAE40110 you will be required to:

  • Submit a certified copy of your qualifications along with an academic transcript showing units completed (Does not need to be certified as he completed it through AOT).
  • Provide a CV showing currency of training and assessing including professional development (with any supporting documentation of attendance) along with referees to confirm currency
  • Provide 2 session plans - Group based session plans that you have prepared
  • Provide 2 learning programs - Examples of work based learning programs that you have developed.
  • Provide a statutory declaration to be signed and completed by a workplace supervisor for those using BSZ404 and BSZ407 to cover skills gap with TAEDEL402A Plan, organize and facilitate learning in the workplace

You are required to complete 3 units of study for the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) - Bridging Course


Plan assessment activities and processes (TAEASS401B)

Plan and organise the assessment process, including recognition of prior learning (RPL), in a competency – based assessment system. It also includes the development of simple assessment instruments.

Participate in assessment validation (TAEASS403B)

Participate in an assessment validation process.

Use training packages and accredited courses to meet client needs (TAEDES402A)

Use training packages and accredited courses as tools to support industry, organisation and individual competency development needs.

Prepare, deliver and review a presentation to a target audience. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of endorsement.

Analyse and present research information (BSBRES401A)

Gather, organise and present workplace information using available systems.

Promote products and services (BSBMKG413A)

Coordinate and review the promotion of an organisation's products and services.

Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills (TAELLN401A)

Recognise the core, language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) demands of training and assessment, and to tailor training and assessment to suit individual skill levels, including accessing relevant support services.

Mentor in the workplace (TAEDEL404A)

Establish and develop a professional and mentoring relationship with a learner, in particular an apprentice or trainee employed by, or undertaking work placement in, a workplace. It includes establishing the need for mentoring, developing plan/framework, facilitating and mentoring the mentoring relationship, and evaluating the effectiveness of mentoring.
