Many teachers need to articulate into vocational training in their school, or are looking to move into a career in adult education and training. Our tailored “Teachers fast track program” enables you to transfer your existing skills, knowledge and experience into the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

In this profession, initial qualifications now represent the first stage in a continuum of learning throughout all teaching careers.

Entry Requirements:

  • Have successfully passed your first year probation period as a practicing teacher
  • Have recent teaching experience in a high school environment (within the last two years)
  • MUST Provide a certified copy of your current teacher’s registration for your state or
  • MUST Provide a statement from your principal attesting to your competence against some of the criteria from the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • MUST Provide a certified copy of Bachelor of Education or Graduate Diploma of Education
  • Have access to a workplace that you can use a practice environment (this can be your school)
  • Have computer skills (you will be required to use email, word processor & browse the internet)

The Teachers fast track Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is designed to provide flexible professional development and to provide Teachers with a range of training skill’s to work effectively within vocational education.

Continuous Professional Development

From 1st January 2010 Continuous Professional Development (CPD) will be compulsory in Qld, all full-time Teachers will be required to undertake at least 30 hours of CPD a year. Click here for more information.

How to gain your qualification faster

Recognition of Prior learning (RPL) is “the acknowledgement of the skills and knowledge” that you have gained through previous studies, work and life experiences. If RPL is granted, this will mean that you will not have to complete the study or assessments for a unit or units of competency.

How long does the course take?

You, the student, are completely in control of your own learning schedule. Learning online allows you the freedom to study at home, during your lunch break or from anywhere in the world.

Total nominal hours: 175 hrs | Full time load: 12hrs/wk | Full-time duration: 14 weeks
Maximum 12 months access to online course. (Approx. 10-20 hours to complete each unit)
