The four units of competency of this course are four of the ten units which form the BSB40515 Certificate IV in Business Administration. This means that once you have completed this short course, you are almost halfway through completing a full Certificate IV qualification!

We provide you with six (6) months to complete this course. How long it actually takes will be reflective of the time you are able to dedicate to your studies.

This course could be completed within 15 – 20 hours of study per unit. It may take you less time, it may take you more. That is why we give you six (6) months and all the support you need. The rest is up to you!

BSBWRT401 Write complex documents

Upon successful completion of this unit, you will:

  • plan, draft and finalise complex documents that require review and analysis of a range of information sources
  • use business technology to apply formatting, and incorporate graphics
  • edit the draft text to ensure accuracy and clarity of information, obtain feedback on the draft and revise the draft, apply the enterprise style guide/house style

Demonstrate knowledge of:

  • enterprise style guide/house style
  • formatting styles and their impact on formatting, readability and appearance of documents
  • rules and conventions for written English, as defined by general and specialist sources

BSBADM405 Organise meetings

Upon successful completion of this unit, you will:

  • organise a meeting and advise participants accordingly
  • prepare and distribute all documentation required for the meeting
  • take meeting notes which accurately reflect what was discussed during the meeting
  • produce minutes based on own notes providing an accurate account of the meeting
  • circulate copies of meeting minutes within predetermined timeframes
Demonstrate knowledge of:  
  • culturally appropriate communication techniques
  • relevant formats for agendas and minutes
  • key provisions of relevant legislation
  • organisational procedures relevant to the task
 

BSBADM406 Organise business travel

Upon successful completion of this unit, you will:

  • organise business-related travel for others, including scheduling and developing itineraries and travel-related documents
  • finalise all booking and travel arrangements including any necessary credit requirements according to predetermined budgets and time constraints
Demonstrate knowledge of:
  • booking procedures relevant to business travel
  • key provisions of relevant legislation that may affect aspects of business operations
  • organisational policies and procedures required to organise business travel, including use of internet sites and other online resources

BSBSUS401 Implement and monitor environmentally sustainable work practices

Upon successful completion of this unit, you will:

  • analyse information from a range of sources to identify current procedures, practices and compliance requirements in relation to environmental and resource sustainability
  • consult and communicate with relevant stakeholders to seek input and encourage engagement with developing and implementing sustainability improvements, encourage feedback and suggestions and report on outcomes
  • plan and organise work group activities to:
    • measure current resource usage
    • solve problems and generate ideas for improvements
    • evaluate and implement strategies to improve resource usage
    • plan, implement and integrate improvements into operations
    • meet environmental requirements
  • apply continuous improvement approach to sustainability performance
  • apply change management techniques to support sustainability performance

Demonstrate knowledge of:

  • relevant internal and external sources of information and explain how they can be used to identify sustainability improvements
  • the compliance requirements for the work area with reference to legislation, regulations, codes of practice and workplace procedures that relate to environmental and resource issues
  • common environmental and energy efficiency issues within the industry
  • benchmarks for environmental and resource sustainability that are relevant to the organisation
  • organisational systems and procedures that relate to environmental and resource sustainability improvements including:
  • supply chain, procurement and purchasing
  • assurance
  • making recommendations and seeking approvals

You will be assessed for these units of competency using a variety of tasks to assess your understanding and skills. A virtual session means you will be one on one with your assessor either answering questions or taking part in a role play, just as you would do in any classroom, only we do it online.

All of our assessments are marked by your assessor within five working days following the day you submitted your work. You have three attempts for each task to achieve a competency result, with your assessor giving you detailed feedback following each submission.
