This course has been created for those who are new to Information technology (IT). It is also practical for those who are more experienced users, as it will assist them in filling the gaps in their IT skills and knowledge.

The Beginners Guide to Using a Computer guides users through the basics of everyday computing, helping them to manage, save and secure their data.

Subjects you’ll cover:

ICAU1128A Operate a personal computer

• Navigate a computer
• Create and customize  desktop icons
• Select, open and rename groups of files
• Copy files to disk
• Erase and format files
• Search for saved files
• Add printers and ensure correct printer settings
• Shut down computer correctly

BSBCMN205A Use business technology

• Select and use  business technology
• Process and organise data
• Maintain technology

Upon successful completion

Students will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment .This short course contains required units from the Certificate II in Business (BSB20101) qualification (Outcomes focus on Computer Skills).
