This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to plan and oversee and deliver human resources services. It is not specific to any given human resources function and deals with the coordination of services and approaches.

Manage workforce planning (BSBHRM504A)

Plan workforce strategies to achieve organisational goals and objectives. It includes aligning workforce objectives with business plans, analysing labour market trends and predictions, and designing strategies and succession plans to ensure a competent and appropriately diverse workforce is available to meet anticipated changes. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of endorsement.

Undertake project work (BSBPMG522A)

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to undertake a straightforward project or a section of a larger project. This unit addresses the management of projects, including developing a project plan, administering and monitoring the project, finalising the project, and reviewing the project to identify lessons learned for application to future projects.

Analyse and present research information (BSBRES401A)

Gather, organise and present workplace information using available systems.

Implement continuous improvement (BSBMGT403A)

Implement the organisation's continuous improvement systems and processes. Particular emphasis is on using systems and strategies to actively encourage the team to participate in the process, monitoring and reviewing performance, and identifying opportunities for further improvements.

Manage business document design and development (BSBADM506B)

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to establish standards for the design and production of organisational documents and to manage document design and production processes to ensure agreed standards are met.

Ensure a safe workplace (BSBWHS501A)

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to establish, maintain and evaluate the organisation’s work health and safety (WHS) policies, procedures and programs in the relevant work area according to WHS legislative requirements.

Manage risk (BSBRSK501B)

Manage risks in a range of contexts across the organisation or for a specific business unit or area. The unit has been designed to be consistent with AS/NZS 4360:2004 Risk management.
