The first unit is a foundation unit for any person wishing to pursue competency in human resources. This provides a sound basis for working across various functional areas in human resources. Learn to research human resources functions, review policy and procedures frameworks, apply ethical framework, analyse human resource metrics, and report on research outcomes.

The second unit describes the performance outcomes, skills, and knowledge required to undertake a straightforward project or section of a larger project. This includes developing a project plan, administering and monitoring the project, finalising the project, and reviewing the project.

Finally, you will gain the skills and knowledge required to develop and maintain effective work relationships and networks through relationship building and negotiation skills.

Successful completion of the three units of competency for this short course outlined below will earn you a Statement of Attainment in partial completion of the BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business. This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to support work across a range of human resource functional areas.

The unit applies to individuals who require a broad understanding of human resource functions, associated policy frameworks and the administrative requirements to support these functions and policies.

Upon successful completion of this unit, you will:
  • on at least two occasions, support key human resource functions and/or processes for an organisation or work area.
In the course of the above, you must:
  • use appropriate technology to collect and analyse workforce data.

BSBPMG430 Undertake project work

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to undertake a minor project or a section of a larger project. It covers developing a project plan, administering and monitoring the project, finalising the project and reviewing the project to identify lessons learned for application to future projects.

The unit applies to individuals who play a significant role in ensuring a project meets timelines, quality standards, budgetary limits and other requirements set for the project.

Upon successful completion of this unit, you will:
  • Undertake project work on a minor project or a section of a larger project.
In the course of the above, you must:

  • Consult and communicate with relevant stakeholders to generate input and engagement in planning, implementing and reviewing the project
  • Provide support to team members to enable them to achieve deliverables and to transition them as appropriate at completion of the project.

BSBTWK401 Build and maintain business relationships

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to establish, develop and maintain effective work relationships and networks through relationship building and negotiation skills required by workers. These workers may be within an organisation as well as freelance or contract workers.

The unit applies to individuals with a broad knowledge of networking and negotiation who contribute to creating solutions to unpredictable problems. They may have responsibility for and provide guidance to others.

  3. Build and improve business relationships

Upon successful completion of this unit, you will communicate with others to build and maintain at least two different business relationships.

In the course of the above, you must:

  • promote professional business relationship using written and verbal communication techniques
  • identify methods to improve business relationships
  • participate in formal and informal networking opportunities that promote the business.

You will be assessed for these units of competency using a variety of tasks to assess your understanding and skills. A virtual session means you will be one on one with your assessor either answering questions or taking part in a role play, just as you would do in any classroom, only we do it online.

All of our assessments are marked by your assessor within ten (10) working days following the day you submitted your work. You have three (3) attempts for each assessment task to achieve a satisfactory outcome (100% pass mark), with your assessor giving you detailed feedback following each submission.
