A virtual classroom is an online meeting room where you can meet your trainer or assessor to talk, share ideas, discuss course material and/or be assessed. We use Skype for Business. With one click, anyone can join your online meeting, from any device. It is free and safe to use. You do not need to download Skype or have a Skype account. You will need a microphone and speakers or a headset to participate in the virtual classroom. We recommend a USB headset.
The virtual classroom has 3 purposes:
1. Virtual classroom assessment: At various times throughout your course you may be invited to participate in a virtual classroom assessment session. This is when the assessment requires some sort of interaction with the trainer/assessor e.g. a role play or discussion. This virtual classroom session may involve a scenario, role-play and/or project.
2. Mentoring session: This can be used if you would like personal assistance or coaching from your trainer.
3. RPL application: To apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL), you must book an RPL interview in the virtual classroom.
Sessions generally are 15-30 minutes in length. There is no limit to the number of sessions you can book and attend.
